Admission registers, 1855-[193-].

Currently under the supervision of the Dept. of Mental Health, Taunton State Hospital and its predecessors have been responsible for providing residential care and treatment to mentally ill persons in southeastern Massachusetts since 1854. Admission registers were created to record information about patients at commitment, and to serve as a source of information for annual admissions statistics.
